Description
It was like a soft graham cracker kind of cookie made with a fruit puree with a hint of cinnamon. It came in dinosaur shapes. My daughter loved them. It was the only thing she wanted to bring to school when it was her turn to bring snacks for the class.

When I was in elementary school in the early 90's I remember my mom buying me Frookies and absolutely LOVED them. I'm still trying to find a place that still sells them.

frookies were the worst cookies of all time. that's why they were only around for about 6 months. i just tasted a cookie earlier today, and it was so horrendous that i said it tasted like a frookie.

Frookies were a natural-foods brand of cookie sweetened with fruit, fruit juices, and fruit essences -- and they tasted DIVINE!!!!!!!

Try Kashi TLC soft baked cookies, they taste similar, only better than the Frookie. That and they have much less fat and saturated fat than most other cookies. My favorite is the oatmeal dark chocolate, they have 12 grams of whole grains per cookie.

These aren't the "Frookies" I am trying to find. I got them at an Amish Quilt Auction. The only thing that sounded remotely like these Frookies was the cookie surrounding the filling. The filling in the ones I got was a white filling similar to filling in Oreo. And, each cookie weighed about a pound each.

The original Frookies came in different varieties. There was Mint Chocolate Chip as well as chocolate and vanilla Sandwich Cookies. There may have had others that I don't remember. Those mentioned were awesome! ;>)~ Then, the quality control broke down. Sandwich cookies contained no creamy centers, or the cookies were sandwiched upside down, or inside out. I wrote them a letter, and was sent a carton of mixed cookie packages for free. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, I was surprised to find some cookies were packaged incorrectly. Still delicious, but gone from the shelves!!
