Description
Taco's with the puffy shells served at Taco Bell. They were made really popular because they are 99cents and the little Taco Bell Dog said things like "Viva Gordita" and "Drop the Chalupa"

Taco Bell never discontinued Gorditas and Chalupas. I personally enjoy them, but they always give me acid reflux. And no, they are not 99 cents anymore, at least where I live.

I remember my dad getting a chalupa when they first came out and said it was nasty. "Like eating a taco wrapped in funnel cake" he said. Apparently that was his opinion, because they still have them..

I miss the Santa Fe sauce, the Baja isn't a good substitute. So delicious. I used to drive 10 minutes to the nearest Taco Bell in Fair Lakes to get mine...

Apparently now the Baja sauce has been discontinued by Taco Bell. All there is left is the "Supreme" Chalupa and Gorditas with sour cream, and it is nowhere NEAR as good as the Santa Fe and Baja sauces they had. Sad that they were discontinued.
