Description
An instant oatmeal for kids that had "hidden" gummi bears that would only appear after you added water and microwaved it. I remember that the bears came in a bunch of flavors including strawberry and maple & brown sugar. The bears weren't very gummi, with a texture more like your typical kids' fruit snack.

This was my favorite food when I was a kid, seriously, this was all I would eat! I loved to eat around the gummy bears and save them for last. You can't just stick gummy bears in a bowl of cereal and say "here you go" either, these had a different texture to them, they were awesome! I'd buy a ton of them again. I remember when they stopped making them when I was a kid I threw a huge fit cause these were my favorite food next to cinnamon toast.

When I was 2 or 3 I was supposed to be napping. When my mom came downstairs to check on me, she found the pantry door open and a trail of oatmeal leading to my room. I ate all the berry bears out of a bunch of packages but I REMEMBER leaving one to avoid suspicion and trying to clean it up to hide the mess. My mom doesn't think I could remember that long ago (24 yrs?) but I VIVIDLY remember the feeling of not wanting to get caught and remorse when I was lying back in bed. lol

My husband admitted to me that the reason he doesn't not eat oatmeal is because it could never be as good as the undercover bears!

Under Cover Bears were the predecessors to the dino-egg-oatmeal fad. Nothing will ever replace Under Cover Bears in terms of flavor or taste, however. I loved these as a kid.

Nobody I know of remembers this oatmeal... I thought I might have imagined it. I loved this oatmeal & im not a big oatmeal fan but if this came back out I would be. There was something in the texture of the bears that makes it impossible to duplicate. Bring back undercover bears !

I'm with you all. My brother is about 2yrs older then me but for some reason he can't remember them. But I do think I only had the maple brown sugar but might have had strawberry also. It's the only oatmeal I ever liked.
