1993. My favourite album ever, really. (but i chose to do this year-by-year)
    • 3. Slanted and Enchanted by Pavement

    By: Bryan
    • 10. Supernatural by Everything
who got the hooch.....remember that song? it's one of the worst songs on there. whole thing's groovin. white boy reggae rock.
    • 9. Lie To Me by Jonny Lang
I play guitar, so this is a necessity. blows ya away at times.
    • 8. Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt
c'mon. this cd was distributed in the suburbs or something. over 10 million people can't be wrong.
    • 7. Live: Stand By Your Van by Sublime
I bought this and was blown away. the whole thing's groovin or rockin or something to make you like it. I only wish I'd have been able to experience a live Sublime show like those. Long Beach Dub All Stars catch some of that vibe when they play, check them out.
    • 6. Jesus Freak by dc Talk
I wasn't into christian or pop music when I heard this and still loved it. It's got some alternative-type songs, some lighter stuff, something for just about anyone. Listen to it even if you aren't christian.
    • 5. So Much for the Afterglow by Everclear
My fave cd for about 3 years. incredibly angry lyrics if you get past the poppiness of the singles they released. only downfall of that cd was the singles they released. am still waiting to hear amphetamine on the radio (lol).
    • 4. Fundamental Elements of Southtown by Payable on Death (P.O.D.)
gotta include a hardcore band, since that was a small part of my life awhile back. Great cd for hardcore fans. I have a POD website if anyone else likes this one. I'll include the url at the end.
    • 3. Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo by MxPx
Christian music, although it's not very evident on this cd. Their best cd released in the 90s (the ever passing moment is better, but it was released this past may). I'm a huge mxpx fan, i had to include something of theirs.
    • 2. Dude Ranch by blink182
this is sooo much better than enema of the state. every song is either good or funny or both.
    • 1. Buckcherry (Self-Titled...duh) by Buckcherry
The best cd i've ever heard straight through. every track is great. I base greatness on consistency as far as cds go, which can justify my exclusion of Nevermind by Nirvana. there were some definite duds on that cd. sorry. This cd is the one cd i would play if I ever threw a party 9 which is somewhat unlikely)

These were in no particular order, except for my number one. Askin me to order these would be like....something that's incredibly hard to do. heh heh. my POD website is: www.angelfire.com/rock/PODoutkast .

    By: Joshua Cosmo Allen Stephan
    • 10. Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem
What can you say? Eminem is pushing the boundaries and that takes balls. He don't give a sh!t what people think and that is what music is about. Even Elton John loves this CD.
    • 9. Millenium by Backstreet Boys - Song Writters
It is a touch puss but not many bands have this much explosion. It has everything and the onlt bad part is that they don't write there own lyrics.
    • 8. Supernatual by Sanatana
Santana climbs out of that smokey cave to deliver a album that gathers more superstars then a drug rehab. Amazing guitar sounds just pulsate from this one.
    • 7. No Strings Attatched by N'Sync - Song Writters
How many records have they already broken with this one? They do have talent and that is the bottom line. On lyrics, see Backstreet comment.
    • 6. Nevermind by Nirvana
This brought garage punk out of the garage. Lyrics that dictate Kurt Cobain's feelings are felt with power.
    • 5. Emaculate Collection by Madonna
Madonna had to be on this list and this is the only one I know. Although it is a greatest hits, it has all the songs that everyone knows.
    • 4. Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morsette
Complete with a harsh voice, every day on MTV there was a new video from this album.
    • 3. The Chronic by Dr. Dre
This album actually made white, rural kids think that gin and juice is all you need when you are ridin n' a 64. These kids loved Compton, not even knowing where the hell it was.
    • 2. II by Boys II Men
A classic love CD. The voices, the lyrics, the music, the legends.
    • 1. Listener Supported by Dave Matthews Band
It is the ultimate album by the ultimate band. The Dave Matthews Band takes live albums to another level and this one symbolizes perfection. Dave scripts the best lyrics and that is what weaves all those plush intruments together.

I know that I leave out a large chunk of this century but my memory is not that stellar and the ones that are still playing just happen to enter the mind first. Note: Dave Matthew's Listener Supported and Madonna's Emaculate collection shouldn't be on there just for the fact that they are greatest hits. I almost put Paul Simon "Graceland" on this list just because they digitally remastered it in the 90's, but that doesn't count. Sorry for the bombardment of "candy jammers" but N'Sync and Backstreet really have people singing and I guess that you could just call it a different kind of music that has sprang up around us. But the one thing that you can't do is deny the fact that they should be on here. (just for the records, i don't either of those CD's) And The Dave Matthews Band is easily the band of the decade. NO questions asked. See you boys at TD Waterfronte in Orlando Sept. 6th. Thanks

    • 9. Accident of Birth by Bruce Dickinson
    • 8. The Missing Years by John Prine
    • 7. Painkiller by Judas Priest
    • 6. Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
    • 5. No More Tears by Ozzy Osbourne
    • 4. Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings by John Prine
Contemporary folk artist. Very diverse and underappreciated. This is a great album with a real rock feel to it.
    • 3. No Exit by Blondie
    • 2. Spirit of the Wild by Ted Nugent
    • 1. The Last Temptation by Alice Cooper

    • 10. Psycho Circus (1998) by Kiss
A girl who is a long-time friend of mine gave me this record as a present, having chosen it almost by chance.Christ, they have come back, and they showed they HAD learned a lot during their career:"Psycho Circus","Into The Void","Raise Your Glasses"are just the great hard rock songs I expected from them, but,to my great and pleased surprise, there is more. Two great pop tunes:the acoustic "We Are One"(would you expect Gene Simmons has such an intense voice in his mouth, together with the tongue?),and the well-arranged "I Finally Found My Way"(impressive).Just at the end,Kiss show how good they are with even a terrific alternative track:"Journey of 1000 Years".Yeah, rock on!
    • 9. Dookie (1994) by Green Day
Here it is-punk will never die! These three boys take just three instrument, a bunch of power chord,and..voilą!They gift us a whole record of energy, great melodies, and hooking lyrics.IMO,they are the new form of room-music: few instruments and great tunes:"Basket Case"(!!!),"Longview","Seventeen","Welcome to Paradise","She","When I Come Around","pulling Teeth"
    • 8. Aquarium (1997) by Aqua
Mmmm...This album (together with the following "Aquarius") is my capital sin.I am guilty of putting them next to music monsters. But forgive me!As a craft, this record is more than well-done.In its pop attitude,it touches different style - it's not just "Barbie Girl"& co.I think it's worth buying it!
    • 7. Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness (1995) by Smashing Pumpkins
The caravan of music that definied the sound of this decade.Beside classics like "Tonight Tonight","Bullet With Butterfly Wings","Zero","1979","Farewell and Good-night",there are songs that explains which sound is expected from a 90s song:"Thirty-Three","Muzzle"(the Unforgiven of the Pumpkins),"Galapogos","Cupid DeLocke",...
    • 6. Innuendo (1991) by Queen
More than progressive! The best band after The Beatles produced their last album together filling it with any kind of jewel:"Innuendo","The Show Must Go On"are among the all-time best production in music, than "Headlong","I'm Going Slightly Mad",with "Ride The Wild Wind" as Queen's best dance work
    • 5. Made in England (1995) by Elton John
When he tried something less commercial! His technical skills produced a great, introspective album!I remember that early summer, ending my 2nd year at grammar school listening to "Made in England,"Believe","Lies","Please","Belfast" in the drawing class!
    • 4. The Black Album (1991) by Metallica
It smashes all you knew about heavy music in general!"Enter Sandman" gets you to howl,"Holier Than Thou" sets you free, and then it suddenly stops to introduce the melodic perfectness of "Nothing Else Matters",the desperation of "My Friend of Misery", and the great crossover of "The Unforgiven",the union between heavy metal and pop.James Hetfield riding his voice like has never done! The guitar solo in "The Unforgiven" is one of the greatest(and of the toughest!)
    • 3. Adore (1998) by Smashing Pumpkins
It is THE to listen in order to recover your most inner soul!It is a concept album, but I still can recognize great songs like "To Sheila","Behold! The Nightmare","Once Upon a Time","Black Page".It's just you, your mood, your senses, and the album.
    • 2. (What's The Story)Morning Glory? (1995) by Oasis
A great, rocking album-one of the finest pieces of work. You cannot help singing together with "Wonderwall"and"Don't Look Back In Anger",crying with "Cast No Shadow"and"Some Might Say",losing yourself into "Champagne Supernova"!They've got both the kinda voices:Liam's denoids and Noel's cannon
    • 1. Parklife (1994) by Blur
      Whoa!Simply the COMPLETE album!It goes up and down from melody("To The End"),to heavy("Bank Holiday"),to pop("Girls&Boys"),to alternative("Trouble In The Message Center"),to lyrical("End of The Century").Huge!!!

I'd like to underline that, even though I mentioned just one album each,I think the whole work of Blur and Oasis is the most important one for this decade;so,I recommend you to take a look at:(B)"Modern Life Is Rubbish"(1992),"The Great Escape"(1995),"Blur"(1997),and(O)"Definitely Maybe"(1994),"Be Here Now"(1997),"Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants"(2000),and the single "Whatever"(1994).This is just a summary of MY 90s, spent as a teen-ager in love with pop.Since I am grown-up today,I'd like to hear your opinions, expecially if you do not agree with my choices.Thank you & good-night!
