    • 10. American Beauty
Probably one of the best movies of all time. The last little speech Lester gives is encouraging because it captures and verbalizes the way we often feel perfectly. The most simple beauty in the world is overwhelming at times.
    • 9. The Matrix
Our generation's "Star Wars". The graphics were there. The futuristic style was there. The philosophy was there. The incrediblely complicated yet fascinating storyline was there. Perfect movie, in my opinion.
    • 8. Scream
Once more, not one of my favorites, but no one can deny the entire "teen slasher movie wave" it created. We're still feeling the effects...("Scary Movie 2" -ech!)
    • 7. Jurassic Park
The dinosaur movie. But that's not all it was to us. Again-- primative, primal fear. Survival. We love it here in the USA.
    • 6. Austin Powers
A comical masterpiece. Why? I really don't know. Somehow it makes me laugh every time I watch it. It definately broke down some censorship barriers, and paved the way for more "kid-targeted" sex humor... and we wonder where the innocence went...
    • 5. Titanic
Again, not my favorite, but it was a HUGE movie. This goes to show the more negative results of the Hollywood take on history... twisting it by throwing pretty actors around. I'm guessing every pre-teen in America thinks Jack and Rose were "historical figures".
    • 4. Pulp Fiction
Ahh-- the 90's chic-ness of it all! Thurman, Travolta, Jackson... this isn't one of my favorites, but it was a pop culture hit.
    • 3. Schindler's List
This movie took the true story of a far less-than-perfect man and his heroism despite his imperfections. A classic.
    • 2. Forrest Gump
An entire nation rooting for a half-wit man from Alabama who lives by the simplest morals... a true classic that made everyone realize what happiness simplicity and innocence brings.
    • 1. Silence Of The Lambs
This movie was the single most thrilling movie of it's kind in the 90's. This movie brought back the most primal American fear-- the serial killer... Not since "Psycho" has there been such a reaction from this kind of movie.
This list is one I think accurately represents the highlights of the 90's movies. I didn't just pick movies I liked. I picked the movies I thought expressed themselves in the best way-- and had the nation respond favorably to them.

    • 10. Terminator 2:Judgement day
      Pretty cool, that's it
    • 9. Jurrasic park
how to make possible what's unreal and not like the others, make real what's impossible.
    • 8. Braveheart
Magnificient perfomance by Mel gibson as a actor, director and co-producer. that's also the beginning of a lot of history film
    • 7. Forrest Gump
TOM TOM TOM HANKS! and what destiny can do.
    • 6. The Matrix
A new kind of action scene is born

The second war: or how to be IN the movie

    • 10. Interview with the vampire
I don't really think this film is that great or worthy of any top ten list but I didn't have a tenth film so I put this in. Something very homoerotic about two hollywood hearthrobs playing Vampires and sucking blood. The movie would be complete with a gay kissing scene with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. This film is Tom Cruise's statement and coming out of the closet.
    • 9. Good Will Hunting
Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I'll have it be known that this is the only movie that I have sat in a theatre and cried in. "You don't wanna hear that stuff skylar!!" So moving. This film encapsulates my youth. Deep down inside there is more. Punk kid gets a lesson in life.
    • 8. Field of Dreams
"but Baseball, Baseball rey" , "it was you" .... "no.. it was you ray" Cry every time I see it. One of the more beautiful things in life. "hey dad you wanna go play catch?"
    • 7. Edward Scissorhands
The Tim Burton Story. The ultimate love story. "hold me." " I can't" Man oh man is that good stuff. I just can't get over that. Tim Burton is a genius. The ice dance scene so simple yet so Dynamic, this man definetley knows what he wants.
    • 6. Pulp Fiction
The movie that changed my life. I'll just put it that way.
    • 5. Forrest Gump
An american classic that everyone can enjoy. The world just ate this movie up. The blend of good humor and drama is amazing. I have always felt that this movie is an emotional rollercoaster.
    • 4. The Sixth Sense
Oh my god, how original is this movie? I had never seen anything like it before. It is much more than a ghost story it is artistic brilliance. M. Night Shymalan has created something unique and original. This movie is like Magic.
    • 3. Boyz in the hood
A classic and a masterpiece. No other movie had been like this before. It blew everyone away. It is so good, once again I can't go on enough about how much this movie is life. Emotionally grueling at times. You will never forget it. This movie is an experience that will never escape you, a must see for every eye.
    • 2. Schindler's list
Intense and powerful, this film is life. A friend of mine once described it as "god-like". Beautiful to look at at times. Horrifying to look at other times. It grabs a hold of you and never let's go. Spielberg proves to everyone with a wonderful piece of art that he in fact can do Drama and do it beyond good.
    • 1. Silence of the lambs
A classic. Very well crafted horror masterpiece. Very dark and creepy like a nightmare unfolding on the screen. Wonderful performances. Masterpiece. This is the Movie of the 90's.
THIS IS THE ARTISTIC TOP TEN LIST. NOT THE FAVES.
