    By: Chris
    • 10. Clerks
This movie is a classic comedic performance....Kevin Smith's best movie.....I suggest everyone rent this one.
    • 9. Forrest Gump
Possibly Tom Hanks greatest performance ever....
    • 8. Reservoir Dogs
Tarantino's masterpiece.....we all remember the scene with the ear.
    • 7. Goodfellas
      Scorcese's best movie....De Niro, Liotta, Peschi....nice stuff.
    • 6. American History X
A great movie about the controversial subject of racism.....a great message is shown but some people take it the wrong way.
    • 5. Saving Private Ryan
One of the best scenes in movie history when they storm the beaches of Normandy in the opening scene.
    • 4. Pulp Fiction
A rebirth for Travolta in the Tarantino classic as a follow up to Reservoir Dogs.
    • 3. Silence of the Lambs
Anthony Hopkins with a great performance....this movie was great.
    • 2. The Usual Suspects
All the suspense....the twists and turns...Spacey gives a great performance....as well as everyone else in the movie.
    • 1. Schindlers List
This is probably one of the greatest movies ever.....this is one of the most inspirational movies ever. This is the most important movie of the 90's. The purpose of the movie makes it one of the top ten movies of all time. Congrats to Speilberg, Liam, etc.
A great decade for movies....I hate the people who pick cheesy movies like She's All That as their number one movie....they have never ever watched a good movie before.

    • 10. Truman Show
"We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented."... so true, ye sheep.
    • 9. Mission to Mars
I just like the feel of this movie. Great scenery, interesting plot.
    • 8. Terminator 2
      Special FX are excellent.
    • 7. American History X
Ed Norton's character is a likable racist, makes many good points about immigration and race, but has to go to jail for overreacting to an armed black burglar.
    • 6. Gattaca
Sci-fi, starring Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman. If you don't have good genes, you better have willpower!
    • 5. The Man Without a Face
Mel Gibson stars. It's the nice scenery that I enjoy, as well as the touching story of the young boy wanting a father figure.
    • 4. Boondock Saints
When guilty men go free, we all hope that someone will take the law into their own hands. "You guys should be in every major city"
    • 3. Braveheart
Avenging the death of his wife, Will Wallace leads the Scots in their fight for independence.
    • 2. Jurassic Park
      Novel, fantastic story.
    • 1. Dumb & Dumber
Few comedies top this. Ha, I didn't put much thought into ranking these 10. It's too arbitrary to rank them.
Schindler's List - fictional as the details are - is tremendously overrated. Why no movies about the 50-60 MILLION White gentiles killed by Jewish-invented/orchestrated Communism? If Hitler hadn't done something to stop them, Germany would have been taken over as Communist... as it indeed was.

    • 10. Reservoir Dogs and Shawshank Redemption
I had trouble deciding which one should be on the list...so here is a tie! Reservoir Dogs introduced us to Quentin Tarantino who is an AWESOME director and so much more. "Are you gonna bark all day little doggie, or are you gonna bite?" The ear scene, for those who know what I am talking about is a classic. Mr. Blonde and Mr. Orange are the best, but of course you have to love Mr. Pink as well. As for Shawshank Redemption, Tim Robbins is amazing in it. It is such a moving movie.
    • 9. The Doors
This movie definetely has to be on here...not only is Val Kilmer in it, but he is playing JIM FREAKIN MORRISON, truly one of the best people that ever graced rock music with their presence! It amazed me that Val Kilmer actually sings in the movie, in more than one place. He is one of the greatest the movie industry will ever see!
    • 8. Empire Records
This made me want to work in a record store :) which never happened by the way, but that is ok. It has great music and reminds me of the mid-90's which was one of the best times that I would LOVE to go back to.
    • 7. Usual Suspects
WHO IS KEYSER SOZE?!?!? Very suspenseful, and a must-see movie!
    • 6. Forrest Gump
Has Tom Hanks ever been better, except for maybe Philadelphia? Great music, great story, and truly heartfelt. I love it!
    • 5. LA Confidential
One of the best casts ever in a movie. Kevin Spacey, Guy Pearce, Russell Crowe, Kim Basinger, and Danny DeVito...that right there should send you to the video store. Great movie!
    • 4. Fight Club
One of the most unique movies I have ever seen! Very nicely directed and so thought provoking, funny, and beautiful at the same time.
    • 3. American History X
This is such a powerful movie, it offended a couple of my friends, but they loved it when it was over. It never ceases to make me cry. Edward Norton is incredible!
    • 2. Tombstone
PHEW..what to say about this movie....one of the best casts ever. Val Kilmer (best actor alive, just ahead of Kevin Spacey, and they actually went to the same high school) is phenomenal in this movie! "Im your Huckleberry" AWESOME, AWESOME movie!!!
    • 1. American Beauty
Barely made it on the list for the 90's...just one more year and I wouldn't have been able to put it on here :( This is my FAVORITE movie! This is the anti Ozzie and Harriet view of a family and the neighborhood they live in. Awesome performance by Kevin Spacey!
Honorable Mentions: Se7en, The Lion King, Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Twister, A League of Their Own, The Green Mile, The Crow, The Crying Game, Die Hard With a Vengeance, Beavis & Butthead Do America, Stigmata, GI Jane, The Negotiator, The Saint, Mallrats, Interview With the Vampire, Speed, Set It Off, Dogma, American Psycho, and Clay Pigeons.

Arnie fits the role perfectly, and the story played out perfect.

    • 4. Mrs. Doubtfire
Best comedy film of the 90s. Robin Williams is brilliant.
    • 3. The Truman Show
Great concept, really good in depth film.
    • 2. Forrest Gump
This film really got to you, about a man who wasn't the brightest guy around but accomplished so much in his life. Great film.
    • 1. Jurassic Park
This film was a great adaptation of the book, and truly deserving of the number one spot. Brilliant, and even had a soundtrack that sticks in your head.
The best films in my opinion are films that have a very in depth meaning to them, films that really get to you. They have to be well put together and not just an excuse for cash. I believe the majority of the films I put up there do that job very well...

    • 10. Heat
Sometimes overlooked as a great film. How many other films of the 90's inspired someone to have a police shoot out in broad daylight after robbing a bank?
    • 9. Dogma
Original plot that makes you think about relgion without getting all worked up over it. Why do people force their religion on you?
    • 8. The Big Lobowski
Not knowing where this film is going until the end is what makes it great. Real life is so entertaining, the dude is real life for most people.
    • 7. Snatch
If you have not seen this movie, you have missed out on one of the best written films of all time. Filled with great British one liners. I'm not sure why I like this movie so much, but it moves up on my greatest of all time list ever time I watch it.
    • 6. Goodfellas
I can't imagine mobsters talking, thinking, or living any other way. I can't wait to ask my mother for a butcher's knife to pry the holves out of my grill.
    • 5. Se7en
The darkest movie ever made. I have not seen every movie, but I can't imagine there is a more f-up film. One of, if not, the best ending too any movie.
    • 4. Resevoir Dogs
This film is a mordern day Unforgiven. It is a short bleep in time, but that time is very interesting and entertaining. When this movie was over, I wanted more.
    • 3. Forrest Gump
Truely a great movie. Any movie that introduces catch phares into everyday speech (stupid is a stupid does, box of choc) should be reconized for its acheivement.
    • 2. Unforgiven
This film reminds me of a great short story, a quick read that you can't put down. Secondly, it is the only movie I know word to word.
    • 1. Braveheart
Anytime a film can combine bloody fight scenes, with a convincing love sub-plot, it's a must see. Provide an epic story, it is a classic.
Honorable Mention: The Shawshank Redemption, Dances with Wolves, Kingpin, Pulp Fction, American Pie, Godfather III, Star War: The Phamtom Menace, Fight Club, Blow, Traffic, Ocean's Eleven - I know some were not made in the 90's.
