    • 10. Boiler Room
A great Ribisi (sp?) movie showing a side of crime usually not seen in movies, the white collar crime.
    • 9. Silence of the Lambs
Took the suspence genre to a whole new level that movies today still cannot come close to.
    • 8. Fight Club
A movie that really took a movies plot line to a whole different level. A truely original film. Although the book is better!
    • 7. Se7en
Scared the s**t out of me, and there are not too many movies that can do that. A movie that you can watch a picture actually happening in your city, but hoping to God that it won't and wishing that it was set in the future so that you may comfort your self believing that all futuristic movies are a type of fiction that will never come tru, or atleat in my life time.
    • 6. 25th Hour
Not made in the 90's, but close enough. Edward Norton's last day as a free man, makes for one of the greatest movies of all time (except for thouse that I have mentioned). One of Norton's best performances.
    • 5. Leon: The Professional
A great movie that most people would have a hard time deciding if it is a drama, action, or comedy. Considered to show the best example of true love out of any movie.
    • 4. Schindler's List
A more traditional view of the holocaust, looking at instead those who were with the Nazi's but chose to help those in need.
    • 3. Life is Beautiful
A great italian comedy about the holocaust that does a superb job of allowing the viewer to laugh without feeling offensive, and causing us to cry in the next moment. A different look at the holocaust, that truely deserved the best picture of the year award.
    • 2. Shawshank Redemption
Not a prison break movie, like most would guess, but a touching story of the ultimate redemption. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman really pull this movie together.
    • 1. American HIstory X
Edward Norton's best screen performance, and a great look at the hatred that can be found in the world, and how even if you try to change it, it will never change.

    • 10. Candian Bacon
      JOHN CANDY IS THE MAN
    • 9. Fargo
Made me want to say pop instead of soda.
    • 8. Unforgiven
Just saw this movie recently and all I can say is wow, Clint is the man.
    • 7. Clerks
Kevin Smith at his finest. Some may argue that it really doesn't have the best storyline but it entertains us and isn't that what good films are supposed to do.
    • 6. Braveheart
There hasn't been a movie with cooler battle scenes that I have witnessed.
    • 5. American Beauty
Just an amazing movie all around. The acting was wonderful and the story was really intrestring.
    • 4. The Big Lewboski
Okay I will admit this film is a guilty but if you truly understand the jokes you too would agree with me that this is one of the best movies and probally the best comedy of the 90's.
    • 3. Schindler's List
This is a movie that I could only watch once but I liked it alot. If you can sit through this movie without showing some kind of emotion you must be a machine.
    • 2. Pulp Fiction
This film should have won the oscar instead of Foresst Gump (though I enjoyed Shawshank Redemption just a tad bit more I thought this film was better written.) The best screenplay of the 90's no doubt and it is a travesty that Sam Jackson didn't win best actor.
    • 1. Shawshank Redemption
The best movie of the decade in my opinion. It's one of the only movies that could be 2 and a half hours long and you don't realize it cause it's so good.

    By: Youssef El-Khadem
    • 10. The Matrix
Amazing effects & a very thought-provoking story. Unfortunately stupid people may have to see it twice to understand it.
    • 9. Taxi
High speed French movie starring the great actor Sami Naceri as the crazy cab driver who savesz the day - You should see it.
    • 8. The Green Mile
Inspirational. Shows how the world is cruel to the kindest "people".
    • 7. Liar Liar
      Great comedy by Jim Carey.
    • 6. The Sixth Sense
Excellent performance by Bruce Willis. At last a Ghost story that is witty not depending on sickening scenes & scares.
    • 5. The Usual Suspects
Very nice storyline. It is real witty, I wish the ending was happier though.
    • 4. Pulp Fiction
Nice work Tarantino, it's crazy of course but that's the point - very different.
    • 3. Braveheart
A true epic that showed Mel Gibson's amazing directing abilities as well as his love for gore I must say. Would have been my first choice, escept that the story was changed from the original truth where William Wallis accepted the offer by the English and became a noble himself.
    • 2. Fight Club
I can't find the proper words to describe this one. Thank you Brad is the proper thing to say though! If Snatch was in the 90s, it would've come in here.
    • 1. The Crow
This movie captured the true essense of the comics in a much more dramatic & dark way than other superhero movies. Excellent storyline & directing. - A masterpiece

    By: Nikki
    • 10. Happy, Texas
Staring my favorite actor Steve Zhan and some other dude, this is a hilarious movie from '99. William H. Macy is another awesome actor and Steve Zhans voice is crazy!
    • 9. Heavyweights
My second favorite actor, Ben Stiller, stars as the wacked out fitness instructor Tony Perkis. Easily my favorite Ben Stiller film. By the end, he's totally insane!
    • 8. Dogma
This movie is greatness. It was funny and had everybody: Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Lee, Chris Rock, and of course, Jay and Silent Bob! Best part was at the end with Azreal: "But I'm a f-in' demon."
    • 7. The Wedding Singer
Easily the best Adam Sandler movie. I loved the 80s setting. The ending was so sweet and made you love Adam so much it almost gives you diabetes.
    • 6. Hercules
The best Disney movie ever! So it's not according to myth, who cares? Great songs, great story. A real feel good movie.
    • 5. Office Space
By the man who brought us King of the Hill is one very awesome film. My favorite character is Michael Bolton. "Why should I change? He's the one who sucks." The best part is when the beat up the copier.
    • 4. Mallrats
Hilarious movie that made Jason Lee my third favorite actor. Greatest movie quote ever: "That kid is BACK on the ESCALATOR again!"
    • 3. BASEketball
If this movie was any more funny it would be illegal. Another movie you can never get sick of. When Trey Parker does the Cartman voice it's the funniest moment in movie history!
    • 2. Clerks
Kevin. Smith. Rules. Need I say more?
    • 1. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
Genius! Hilarious! Greatest movie ever! The songs get stuck in your head but you can never get sick of them. I honestly don't see how they got through that movie without cracking up every second.
Some honorable mentions: Can't Hardly Wait, Wayne's World, That Thing You Do!, Reality Bites, There's Something About Mary, and Varsity Blues.

    • 10. Titanic
Ok, I am a man and had to be dragged by my wife to go see this film. However, it was a good film. I respect a film that is sappy, but also does not end totally happy. Indeed, one of the main characters dies. Lets face it, Leonardo Decaprio does not die in too many his films. Sometimes, I wish some of the characters he plays in movies would die.
    • 9. Jurassic Park
A scary movie that is thought-provoking. It gets us talking about the ills of technology and man's thirst for prestige and money. As animal lovers, the film makes us grapple with a duality: the love of dinosaurs and the technology that could bring them back, but may be too powerful.
    • 8. Mighty Aphrodite
Woody Allen will never make another "Annie Hall" or "Play it Again Sam", but he still can prove that he is one of the funniest men that ever lived in this comedy about love and getting older.
    • 7. Waiting for Guffman
One of the best mockumentaries of all time. Christopher Guest and company deliver an entertaining film that pokes fun at the over-indulgent attitude we sometimes take over the serious arts like theatre.
    • 6. Shine
A film that shows that children from dysfunctional families can be beautiful people. Jeffrey Rush turns in a mind-blowingly realistic performance. It is scary to think that this character's father lives in many town and cities around the world.
    • 5. Unforgiven
One of the best revisionist westerns ever made. This movie showed that Clint Eastwood was probably a better director than he is an actor. John Wayne fans- Beware!!
    • 4. Fargo
After "Rasing Arizona" I did not think the Cohen Brothers would produce another great fil. However, they certainly should stamina with this off-beat film. A testimonial about suffering and the great lengths man will go to be happy, this film worked on many levels.
    • 3. Forrest Gump
Entertaining, funny, sad, thought-provoking, all in one. This film has social commentary for many generations. Foreign exchange students should watch this film if they want a history lesson about America in the last 4 decades.
    • 2. Fried Green Tomatoes
A great film that is a subtle feminist text. It shows that feminist texts do not always have to "hit you over the head" and can tell a great story about strong women.
    • 1. American Beauty
For the same reasons as above. This is simply a wonderful and disturbing film that should wake up America about seeminly "normal" and "beautiful" families that are in truth, dysfunctional and ugly. It is one of the greatest films Hollywod has ever made.

    By: Matthew Lacheta
    • 10. The Boondock Saints
Didn't get the play it should have in the the theaters but has a massive following of teens who love movies about senseless violence. Second Installment of the movie is coming Boondock Saints 2 the second coming All saits day.
    • 9. Rounders
Hardcore movie about poker with Matt Damon.
    • 8. Dazed and Confused
Vintage 1993. Ben Afleck and Matthew Mcoughney extremely hilarious.
    • 7. Pulp Fiction
All Star Cast. Bad Ass Plot.
    • 6. Office Space
Micheal Bolton?? Why should i have to change my name he's the one who sucks. MMM yeah i'm gonna need you to come in on saturday. Very Solid Flick.

    • 2. Seven/American History X
Seven has one of the boldest elaborate plots ever and theres another one coming out. One of the most chilling endings i've ever experianced same with American History X.
    • 1. Sleepers/Goodfellas/Casino.
Would have bagged in the God Father 1 and 2 but this is supposedly 90's.
Honorable Mentions: American Pie. Savings Private Ryan. The Negociatior. Dumb and Dumber. Mission Impossible . Heavyweights funniest Ben Stiller flick about fat kids. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Blow. I mean i would put drug movies in the top ten but dazed took that spot. Braveheart and The Patriot same movie different time period. Sucicide Kings, The Game and i'll stop there if you haven't seen any of these i've listed Seriously Pick them up if your top movie is Basketball Diary's or Titanic then I BEG you get one of these GOOD movies i'm sorry but as good as Clueless was for all of us C'mon have some taste.

    • 10. Dumb and Dumber
One of the funniest movies ever made! Highly recommended! I love it!
    • 9. Dances With Wolves
A great movie that everyone should see. It deserved the awards it won, and John Williams' score is fantastic.
    • 8. Ghost
One of the most romantic movies ever! Another movie with great special effects, and it has a tearjerking scene at the end. And Whoopi definitely deserved her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
    • 7. Magnolia
All of the actors and actresses in the movie did such a great job. The ending is totally uexpected, unless you spot all the Exodus references throughout the movie. A little out there at the end, but I still recommend it. I love the song "Save Me" from it.
    • 6. The Rocketeer
Awesome movie with fantastic special effects! James Horner's score is breathtaking! Watch it!
    • 5. Schindler's List
If you haven't seen it, watch it. A true story about a man who risks his life and the lives of 2000 Jews during WWII. One of the greatest movies ever made, hands down. Oskar Schindler, you are a true hero.
    • 4. Newsies
I know it didn't get much recognition, but this movie rocks! The music is outstanding, and the dance scenes are awesome!
    • 3. Casper
A funny movie, yet very touching, that everyone should see if they haven't. I love the special effects in it, and the music is absolutely gorgeous. James Horner did a fantastic job. The best scene is the dance scene, where Kat and the human Casper dance to the song "Remember Me This Way."
    • 2. Hocus Pocus
I could watch this movie for weeks on end. Wildy hilarious and completely awesome. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimi, and Sarah Jessica Parker do such a fantastic job as the Sanderson sisters. The special effects are great! Highly recommended.
    • 1. The English Patient
A fantastic love story that deserved all the awards it got plus some it didn't recieve. One of the greatest movies of all time. Period. If you haven't seen it, watch it.
