Had to have one of the two on here, an well they are both incredible. Early definition of alternative
    • 4. Mr Jones by Counting Crows

Do i need to defend it?

Dave's "Crash" was close, but i dont know how many bands are trul influenced by him. Better than Ezra's Good was a close eleventh. No Nirvana- htey are a great band, but the anger of youth is often overdone. Same for Green Day. This isnt really my difinitive list, i just threw it together

    • 10. Weezer by Suzanne
they manage to get that rock and roll sound without resorting to just faking a 'gritty under produced sound' as alot of bands tend to do now *strokes white stripes libertines* ahem.

really pretty and sad song even if it has got shit head minogue pretending to be indie on it.
    • 4. Sugar by System Of A Down
whod of thought a song about mushroom people could be so moving.
    • 3. Frozen by Madonna
i doubt theres anyone who hasnt loved this song at one point

Prooving classical sounds can meet dance and not have to have a naff rapper saying orgh orgh yeah over the top.

like nothing else at the time, an amazing video, haunting, and made on his pc in his bedroom, which is quite clever really isnt it?

ive changed my mind about loads of the songs on the list already! but i guess its my favourite ten rather than the 'best' ten of the 90's.
