    • 10. Van Halen by Right Now
Who says David Lee Roth is Van Halen? They did just fine with Sammy. He had 10 years in the band and a string of hits, including this one. It was also accompanied by a breakthrough video.
    • 9. Real Muthaphukkin' G's by Eazy-E
The other big rap rivalry of the 90's, Eazy-E & Dr. Dre. After Dre split from N.W.A., he wrote "Dre Day," a diss aimed at E. Eazy came back with this knockout punch that sent Dre's ego reeling. This song also exposed Dre as a "wannabe gangsta" and a "mama's boy", both proved to be true.
    • 8. Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang by Dr. Dre & Snoop Doggy Dogg
The song that brought in the G-Funk era. One of the best eras in rap music.
    • 7. Enter Sandman by Metallica
The song that took Metallica to the mainstream. 'Nuff said.
    • 6. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
The song that "blew the doors open." Nope. Sorry. It didn't. Nirvana had a following in the beginning, but they didn't destroy everything in sight like the media says. Guns N' Roses & Metallica were still selling out 70,000 seat arenas a year after Nirvana released Nevermind. They were the biggest bands of 1991-92, and it took a 4 year sabbatical for Metallica and a disapperance from Axl Rose to give Nirvana the title of "world's biggest band." Still, Smells Like Teen Spirit was a big hit in the 90's.
    • 5. Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio
A smash that came during the peak of the West Coast's reign on rap music. It put the gangsta life into perspective.
    • 4. Man In The Box by Alice In Chains
:sigh: Yet another alternative band that had a hit before Nirvana did. You see what I'm trying to get at?? ;)
    • 3. Jeremy by Pearl Jam
Awesome song. Ten was also an awesome album.
    • 2. Epic by Faith No More
The first alternative band that had a big hit.
    • 1. November Rain by Guns N' Roses
Not the best song on the Use Your Illusion albums, but a commercial success. Awesome, big production, epic video.
