What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?

   By: Brett
- 10. Champagne Supernova by Oasis

Oasis was the best British band of the '90s, and this was their best song.
 - 9. Cherub Rock by Smashing Pumpkins

In the top 4 for best-sounding songs, and a breakthrough hit for Smashing Pumpkins.
 - 8. Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon

Although this song barely got any airplay in the 1990s, it began to in late December, and went on to have phenomenal success in 2000. It is, at minimum, the best song of 1999.
 - 7. Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind

The great groundbreaking hit for the best and most innovative band of the late '90s.
 - 6. Shine by Collective Soul

Boy, what a memorable song. Great band, and great breakthrough hit.
 - 5. What Would You Say? by Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews and the gang made it onto the charts for the first time with this groundbreaking song.
 - 4. Alive by Pearl Jam

The first popular song by Pearl Jam -- and a great one at that.
 - 3. Rooster by Alice In Chains

Another top song of the early '90s --- very catchy, and they helped to define what grunge is all about. They cared nothing about what people thought of their music, only what they thought of it, and that's what made their music so great.
 - 2. Even Flow by Pearl Jam

Boy, this is probably the best-sounding song of the decade. Great band (I like Pearl Jam better than Nirvana myself), and this song only helped the grunge revolution.
 - 1. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana

Where would music be without this song? It was the turning point for rock music, away from commercial rock and leather outfits, and towards cool alternative music that followed for the rest of the decade. Although it's not my favorite song, I think that many of my favorite songs wouldn't exist if it weren't for this one.
