What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?

    By: Sg
    • 10. Dead From The Waist Down by Catatonia
Thought I'd end with a tender song. Cerys' voice is amazing.
    • 9. Richard Iii by Supergrass
      More rock!!!
    • 8. The World Has Turned And Left Me Here by Weezer
THE song to listen to when you wind up a situation without knowing how you got there.
    • 7. Everlong by Foo Fighters
Looking through other lists, I notice that this song is quite popular, more popular than I ever thought. Not that it surprises me, this song rules.
    • 6. When I Come Around by Green Day
Was my number 1 for many years. I lost myself for four minutes when I heard it live.
    • 5. Always Your Way by My Vitriol
Reminds me a lost weekend I once had. Tender.
    • 4. Days Of The Pheonix by Afi
Awesome lyrics, though nearly incomprehensible. The screaming "Whoaaaah" does it for me!
    • 3. Stand Inside Your Love by Smashing Pumpkins
Ultimate love song without the ribbons and bows of sickly-sweet pop music.
    • 2. Night Vision by Hell Is For Heroes
Heard this on MTV2 and instantly thought it was a classic.
    • 1. Another Morning Stoner by ...trail Of Dead
The vocals climb from sleepy to screaming; the guitar riff circles incessantly through the song and the drums in the middle kick ass. The lyrics are deep.

I can't believe there are SO many people with such little taste in music advertising their "lists" here. If my taste influences you to download any of the above 10 and feel the way I do about them, then my work here is worthwhile.

    • 10. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
Great meaningful song. Chris Cornell has a near perfect voice.
    • 9. Everlong by Foo Fighters
    • 8. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
In my oppinion Nirvana are one of the most overrated bands in history but this song is definitely one of the best of the 90s.
    • 7. Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
One of the powerhouse bands of the 80s. Best song off their last great album (the black album).

    • 5. Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers
One of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard.

    • 3. Go/Alive by Pearl Jam
These two songs are what really enticed people to rush and buy Vs (sold 1million in first week!). The best intro to and album.. ever!
    • 2. Alive by Pearl Jam
Excellent live song. Easily the best pearl jam song on their debut album - vs and probably their most famous song.
    • 1. Vietnow/ Sleep Now In The Fire by Rage Against The Machine
Very, very undderrated band. Possibly best band of the 90s and pioneers of rock.

    • 10. Losing My Religion by R.E.M.
Awesome lyrics and guitars. The acoustic version is good too.
    • 9. Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt
The best song on their best album to date. Gwen can sing.
    • 8. Falling Away from Me by Korn
Korn is in my opinion one of the most influential bands of the 90's. Don't get me wrong, Nirvana was influental too. Just not good enough to put on my list :). The part where he starts singing (with him yelling the lyrics in the background) gets me everytime. So beautiful.

One of my favorite bands, not many people have heard of them (or should I say him - most of the work is done by Matt Mahaffey) - amazing lyrics.
    • 6. Dissolved Girl by Massive Attack
Massive Attack is the master of trip-hop, and this song is my favorite by them. It was in the movie 'The Matrix', in the beginning - it's the song Neo is listening to on his headphones.
    • 5. Burden in My Hand by Soundgarden
My favorite song by one of, if not the best rock band of the 90's.
    • 4. Jesus or a Gun by Fuel
I can always recognize this song by it's opening guitar chord. Great vocals - their album 'Sunburn' is one of my favorite albums of all time.
    • 3. Halcyon and On and On by Orbital
A classic, used in the beginning of the movie 'Hackers'. Good stuff.
    • 2. Karma Police by Radiohead
      A great song.
    • 1. Killer Inside by Better Than Ezra
The best part is when it hits the violin solo that blends into the guitar solo. Amazing.

This was reeeeeally tough. At first I tried to cover lots of genres and pick the best from each genre, but I ended up focusing on rock, alternative, hard rock, and electronic music.
