this song is soo sad. i think it talks about a little boy dying and his father is asking him if he would know him if he say him in heaven its soo sad! everyone needs to liten to it!

    • 10. Dont Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith
PROOF positive that old rockers dont die , they just get better with age , and may they continue rocking for 30 more years.
    • 9. Animal Instinct by Cranberries
The Cranberries are just cool , they have enough of everything that is good about rock and roll and seem to have none of the bad.
    • 8. Unforgiven Ii by Metallica
OMG was there some incredible music in the 90's. When I was making this list I never dreamed that Metallica could have slipped all the way to #8.
    • 7. I'll Be Missing You by Puff Daddy And Faith Evans
Could have EASILY been the #1 song , Puff Daddy and Faith Evans sing this song like angels come down from heaven.
    • 6. Shimmer by Fuel
What is it about bands with an Orchesta backing them up that makes the song just that more special. Another message song , but a DAMN powerful message.
    • 5. Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam
Had probably the BEST album of the 90's. And again I pick a song that didnt get the air-play or recognition that it deserved.
    • 4. My Own Prison - Acoustic Version by Creed
Proof that a group doesnt need loud music to make a powerful statement. A song with a message isnt nessasarily a bad song.
    • 3. Selling The Drama by Live
A HUGELY under-rated song from one of the most under-rated groups of the 90's.
    • 2. Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots
You have no idea how hard it was to pick ANY song over a STP song for the top song of the 90's , they are THE GREATEST musical group of the 90's or any other decade. This song is one of their many incredible songs, and speaks for itself.
    • 1. The Man Who Sold The World by Nirvana
Incredible unplugged cover of the old David Bowie Song from one of the 90's greatest groups. Not only Cobains gravelly voice but some really superior music.

TOP 10 ? - lol , I could have picked a top 100 and they woould all have belonged here. To those I forgot please forgive me , here they are in no particular order : Semisonic,Bush,Matchbox 20,Offspring,Red Hot Chili Peppers,Garbage,Greenday,Blind Melon,Smashing Pumpkins,Radiohead,Garth Brooks,2pac,Dre,Snoop Dog,Collective Soul,Oasis,Soul Asylum and so many many more great bands made the 90's probably THE defining decade in the history of rock and roll.

    • 4. Longview by Green Day
      Formal comeback of punk.
    • 3. Firestarter by Prodigy
The best of non-alternative new-happennings in early 90's.
    • 2. Screamager by Therapy?
This band did not get enough recognition in the US. In my opinion, their work in 'Troublegum' is a classic.
    • 1. Lithium by Nirvana
You can see how Nirvana influenced the upcoming rock music in this song. Sudden back-and-forth shifts in guitar distortions and vocals. Isn't this the same formula used in pretty much every alt-rock song today?

Thank God that I spent part of my teenage years in early 90's. It was a blessing after all the 80's crap.

    • 3. All The Small Things by Blink 182
      A great Punk....well...punk-pop song.

The definitive Song. Grunge is dead, and thats just the way it should be.
    • 1. Lithium by Nirvana
A powerful hit from the Band of the decade. Any Other Band in this slot is just a real bad lie. Remember, the early 90s provided better rock than the late 90s
