10. Ordinary World by Duran DuranPart of their brief 90's comeback. Light years ahead in the maturity department from songs like "The Reflex" and "Hungry Like the Wolf." Including the 80s stuff, probably their best song.
9. Name by Goo Goo DollsMost people seem to forget they were a band before "Iris." Sure "Iris" was number one for like forever, but "Name" was better. It had a subtler quality to it which pushed it past "Iris." Check it out.
8. She's The One by World PartySecond straight out love song after Wonderwall. Let that quality not shy you away from its greatness. Absolutely beautiful song that could be a top tier contender for my wedding (if I do get married). Robbie Williams did a cover that just doesn't compare.
7. Got You (Where I Want You) by The FlysMellow altrock combined with a pinch of white rap. Vocals are awesome and ring in your ears like a woman climaxing (maybe not that good). Everyone should check this song out and thank me for the recommendation.
6. Two Princes by Spin DoctorsCatchy song that I can't get enough of; I usually hum it before I go to sleep. It's a song that stays with you and is just pure 90s. The lyrics are also pretty good. Highly recommended.
5. Wonderwall by OasisBritish band pegged as Beatles ripoffs. I feel sorry for the losers who believe this. Oasis is a top 5 band of the 90's who had a distinct sound. Wonderwall IS their best song and people gots to recognize.
4. Everlong by Foo FightersDave Grohl is an extremely talented musician whose skills get unfairly overshadowed by Kurt Cobain. Everlong is a breathtaking song that gave me shivers the first time I heard it. I'm taken aback by the noticeable absence of this song from almost every 90's list on this website. The fact that people choose Britney or BSB or N Sync or Rap over this song or any of the artists I mention makes me ashamed of what music has become. Damn teenyboppers.
3. Bittersweet Symphony by The VerveIncredible song. The greatest thing about this song is the salacious orchestral sound intertwined with meaningful lyrics. Too bad it's been whored out to commercials and the like.
2. Delicious by Catherine WheelUnderrated song from an extremely underrated and underexposed band. This is the song that got the airplay and thank a god for that. However, Catherine Wheel gets no love from radio. Reminds me just why I don't listen to that corporate radio shit anymore. Get the song and the album now!
1. In The Meantime by SpacehogHard to explain why it's number one, but it's damn catchy. The vocals are perfect for the song and the lyrics are excellent as well. What makes this stand out, for me, is the sound. The "hoo-hoo-hoo" at the start of the song is like cotton candy. Get the song now!
Not necessarily the greatest songs, just my favorites right now. List changes constantly. The lack of certain songs or bands may have people questioning the credibility of my list, but, well you know, blow me. Honorable props go to Barenaked Ladies, Coldplay, Grays, James, Lemonheads, Lisa Loeb, Matchbox Twenty, Nirvana, Posies, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Tom Cochrane (the one song), and countless more. I'd also like to thank Kazaa Lite for providing me a way to listen to all these great artists.
