What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?

    By: Nick Daigle
    • 10. Jeremy by Pearl Jam
it showcases everything thats wrong with our society and it did it before its time
    • 9. Round Here by Counting Crows
the best song from a band that has produced so many great ones
    • 8. No Rain by Blind Melon
makes me sad everytime i hear it and realize that the world has lost such a great singer way too early
    • 7. Santeria by Sublime
      same as #8
    • 6. Summertime Remix by Sublime F. Pharcyde
a great remix of a fantastic song
    • 5. Someone Whos Cool by The Odds
simply a great song to just sit back and listen to
    • 4. Hate Everything About You by Ugly Kid Joe
a great song to sing along to
    • 3. Rape Me by Nirvana
to me its far superior to any other nirvana song
    • 2. Last Hour Of The Last Day Of Work by Less Than Jake
the song that turned me on to ska, simply a great song
    • 1. Good Riddance (time Or Your Life) by Green Day
the greatest song ever written and nothing you'd expect from a punk band

    • 10. Sleep Now In The Fire by Rage Against The Machine
I have serious hate for their politics, but their music was good enough that I didn't care. Much.
    • 9. Medication by Garbage
One of my favorite albums of the decade was Garbage Version 2.0. Medication probably wouldn't be the 'most popular' from the album, but it was definitely my favorite.
    • 8. No Rain by Blind Melon
Another one of the songs that will pass the "played until the last people who were alive when it first played are buried" standard on the radio.
    • 7. Pay The Man by The Offspring
Americana was another album with lots of songs. "Pay The Man" wins out by virtue of being more complex and far more interesting than the other songs on the album.
    • 6. The Day The Whole World Went Away by Nine Inch Nails
Of all the NIN songs, this is the one that sticks out in my head the most. It has a peculiar resonance with me nowadays, given the sky-is-falling reaction of the press to major catastrophes and the ranting megalomaniac pronouncements of random terrorists.
    • 5. Zombie by The Cranberries
I've always liked this song, and this band has a few good songs that play on the radio. Zombie is my pick over "Dreams". It's sort of interesting comparing "Zombie" to "Sunday Bloody Sunday" as a contrast.
    • 4. Enter Sandman by Metallica
Definitely the best Metallica song, especially at high volume.
    • 3. Creep by Radiohead
This song has ended up on a lot of the 90's lists for a very good reason. Namely, because it's one heck of a good song which many people can identify with.
    • 2. Jeremy by Pearl Jam
The runner up. "Ten" would be my choice for album of the decade.
    • 1. Disarm by Smashing Pumpkins
It's a tossup between this and "Bullets With Butterfly Wings". In the long run, I think the Pumpkins will come out on top. Lots of the songs on the radio now will lose their punch twenty years from now, which is the standard we should judge by.

Song is heard during the candlelight vigil in front of the boy's house after his death. Incredible!
