    • 10. Poison by Bell Biv Devoe
Probably the best New Jack Swing song, great beat.
    • 9. Say You'll Be There by Spice Girls
Where are the Spice Girls on everyone's lists? They were the second most important group of the 90s (after Nirvana), even if it was because they brought manufactured pop to a head. They were a phenomenon, and this was them at their peak. Most importanty, its funky, good and wholesome. Nice clip too.
    • 8. Confide in Me by Kylie Minogue
Guess not many people outside Australia and England will know this, but I reckon this is Kylie's best song. Totally original.
    • 7. Here's Johnny by Hocus Pocus
Introduced me to techno, and astounded me with the trippy video.
    • 6. Underground by Ben Folds Five
My vote for most underrated band of the 90s, but then I doubt I'd like them if they were mainstream. Great exponents of the mid-ninties- anti-grunge scene.
    • 5. Boom! Shake the Room by The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff
Great, fun carefree rap, none of this gangster rap crap polluting the airwaves today. What rap song can you think of that is as upbeat as this today? None. Point proven.
    • 4. Around the World/Da Funk by Daft Punk
      The French touch!
    • 3. Peaches by President of the United States Of America
The one song that saved me from the likes of Hanson!
    • 2. Girls and Boys by Blur
It was close between this and Song 2, but the oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooo-oo edged out the woo-hoo.
    • 1. Weather With You by Crowded House
Why has no one put this on their lists? Guess it just wasn't big enough in the US. I reckon its better than Losing by Religion, which judging by the number of people who have put that at number one is a big call. You should all go and download it.

The early nineties (and late eighties) was the best period for music priod. Every other day I discover music from this time which just reaffirms how good some of the music from this era was; especially house/dance pop (Soul II Soul, Neneh Cherry, Maddy, Kylie, Janet) and Grunge (Smells like Teen Spirit should just be banned from lists cause its so good). Then I listen to some of today's Urban rubbish and get all depressed. Where has my pop gone? Bring back the early nineties! Peace.
