I think I'm going to move to Ireland to marry her or at least someone who sounds like her.
    • 3. Mr. Jones by Counting Crows
This song was seriously written about me and a friend so it gets a spot on the list -- sorry Celine Deon!
    • 2. Creep by Radiohead
      Explains alot!
    • 1. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
Historical marker for music obviously. Bravo on timing because their earlier good stuff was in the late 80s. =0

Most of the greats were in the first half of the 90s. The latter half pretty much sucked... Honorable Mentions: Bull in the Heather - Sonic Youth; Man in the Box - Alice In Chains; Good - Better Than Ezra; Santa Monica - Everclear; Hey Jealousy - Gin Blossoms; Special - Garbage; Today - Smashing Pumpkins; Basket Case - Green Day; Jump Around - House Of Pain; Suck My Kiss - Red Hot Chili Peppers; Crash Into Me - Dave Matthews Band; Supernova - Liz Phair; Groove Is In The Heart - DeeLite; November Rain - Guns N Roses; any Weezer; any Tool.

Not my personal favorite band of the ones on this list, but you can't deny that they have probably been the most constantly successful band of the last 15 years. This song is easily their best in my opinion.
    • 9. Plush by Stone Temple Pilots
Somehow this band is still underrated for what they accomplished.
    • 8. Mouth Full of Cavities by Blind Melon
Okay, maybe I'm a little biased.:)
    • 7. Change by Blind Melon
It's sad that there are people that really haven't heard of Blind Melon that are old enough that they should've. Blind Melon were lyrical geniuses.
    • 6. Down in a Hole by Alice in Chains
Sorry to all of you Nirvana fanatics, me included, but Alice in Chains deserve all of the credit that Nirvana got for starting the grunge/alternative rock scene.
    • 5. Black Balloon by Goo Goo Dolls
I'm not a huge fan of the band, but this song is great.

An amazing song from an amazing band.
    • 2. Lateralus by Tool
I can't believe there hasn't been more Tool mentions in everybody's list. They are brilliant.
    • 1. No Rain by Blind Melon
Easily the best band on this list, and would still be going strong today if not for Shannon Hoon's death.

Honorable Mentions: Alice in Chains (Rooster/No Excuses), Foo Fighters (Everlong, Times Like These,ACOUSTIC ONLY!), Nirvana(All Apologies, In Bloom, Heart Shaped Box), Red Hot Chili Peppers(Under the Bridge), Stone Temple Pilots(Creep, Dead and Bloated), Tool and Blind Melon(Anything else they've ever done.)
