A prophetic and powerful rock song dealing with a nation-wide, dilemma: school shootings.

A very simply written song, but delivered in a manner that makes it one that most everybody remembers.

Clearly the best, true rock ballad of all time next to "Stairway To Heaven," of the 70's and "November Rain," of the 80's.

Undeniably one of the most exciting rocks songs to come along in years. Rosedale's searing voice adds a kick-ass tone to the song.

Soon to be one of the new classics. A great song that builds into a powerful rock ballad.

Simply rocks. No song is better.

I don't think you can call your list "The Top 10 songs of the 90's" if you have Cristina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Mya, or Savage Garden. Honorable mention of this REAL top 10 list goes to: "If You Could Only See" by Tonic/ "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica/ "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden/ "One Headlight" by The Wallflowers/ "My Hero" by Foo Fighters/ "Going the Distance" by Cake/ "You Make Me Completely Miserable" by Lit/ and "Everlong" by Foo Fighters.

    • 1. Smash Mouth by All Star

    By: Dave
    • 10. Estranged by Guns 'n' Roses
A shining example of early 90's GNR, with the pianos and Slash's great guitar riffs. Some parts are hard, some parts not, but the whole thing is powerful.
    • 9. Cinnamon Girl by Type O Negative
It's a cover (I forget who of), but it kicks ass, and lots of it.
    • 8. Change by Candlebox
Can't really explain it, I just liked this one.
    • 7. Crucify by Tori Amos
The entire first half of the Little Earthquakes album is one of my all time faves, and this is a particular high point.
    • 6. 2nd track from Album of the Year by Faith No More
The name escapes me, but I love the tune.
    • 5. Alive by Pearl Jam
Back before Eddie got all pretentious, when he and the band could just concentrate on rocking.
    • 4. 46 & 2 by Tool
Personal favorite song of the Aenima album. Damn, I can't wait for the next album from those guys
    • 3. Prison Sex by Tool
"Your Moth-er's a slot". Beavis & Butt-Head spoofing this song and its video just made it better.
    • 2. Everything's Ruined by Faith No More
Not one of their most popular songs, but an example of early 90's FNM at their best. Everything just works in this one.
    • 1. Liar by Rollins Band
When I heard this song, I went out and bought every Henry Rollins thing I could, and haven't stopped since. Henry simply rules.

It's was sad to watch great rock and alternative become so huge in the early 90's and peter out towards the end. Even worse to watch it's weak rebirth in the last two or three years. Someone needs to come blow the roof off the joint again real soon.
