    • 10. Crazy by Aerosmith
OK, so they're not the first group that comes to mind when you think of the 90's. but these old fogies had more than one hit during the decade, and after a pretty dissapointing output in the 80's too. it's a great rock ballad, and got plently of play on the radio/MTV. and let's not forget, Alicia Silverstone AND Liv Tyler prancing around together? i mean, c'mon....
    • 9. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
this song eerily creeps along powered by pounding drums driving it forward the whole way and some nice guitar work in the middle to boot. best listened to while just spacing out. also has one of the creepiest damn videos ever.
    • 8. Stone Temple Pilots by Interstate Love Song
a very good song with a great guitar melody. though it largely was forgotten as time went on, anyone who has ever heard it would immediately recognize it, and be glad that they did.
    • 7. Soul to Squeeze by Red Hot Chilli Peppers
although "Under the Bridge" is a great song, it's too overrated in my opinion. "Soul to Squeeze" has a great relaxed, simple sound. and i think it has a more unique sound allowing the bass/drums to take the wheel compared to the guitar, which is heard considerably less. but they all come together great.
    • 6. No Rain by Blind Mellon
another light, fun song. this song stuck around for awhile, though i'm pretty sure it's their only hit. on the bright side, they had the bumble bee girl. could you ask for anything more?
    • 5. Little Miss Can't Be Wrong by Spin Doctors
a band with two great 90's songs, the other being "Two Princes". though i thought this was was just a little better. i'm sure i'll change my mind again. either way, the group itself deserves a spot on the list. just two fun songs.
    • 4. Monkey Wrench by Foo Fighters
just an awesome fast, pounding rock song. Dave Grohl obviously learned a thing or two about screaming from Kurt, though thank God Dave uses it in much more moderation. hard not to speed when listening to this while driving.
    • 3. Mr. Jones by Counting Crows
i know it's been overplayed, but you can't argue with the song that made them huge. it happened for a reason. once the first drum beat/guitar chord plays, i can't help but listen to it all again, even if it is the millionth time.
    • 2. Follow You Down by Gin Blossoms
by far the best Gin Blossoms song, this song will stay in your head for a while. has a lot of energy, while achieving a light, clean feel.
    • 1. Tonight, Tonight by Smashing Pumpkins
probably my favorite song, period. there's never a wrong time to listen to this song, whether feeling down or excited, with it's motivating "never settle" message in conjunction with it's high level of energy. though they had some personal troubles and odd transitions, they're still one of the greatest rock bands of the 90's.
