Description: These became popular in 1998-1999. Little plastic butterfly clips that girls of all ages wore by the gross in their hair. The typical way of wearing them was to part your hair in several different places and to clip each section of hair so that the butterflies would be all in a row on top of your head.

haha i remeber wearing these like glittery butterflys with wings that were all wobbly they were the best i miss the 90's:[
i used to put my hair in a bun and put butterfly clips all around it.
I was a little kid and was OBSESSED with them. I remember having iredescent ones and glittery ones and I put all of them in my hair at once!
i did the exact same thing niky did! i would call it a butterfly bun
I remember these were everywhere when I was young.I had a lot of these clips.I still have a few in my room
when i was about 3 or 4(1998 or 1999) i had 2 of those but one of them broke. the were really hard to get i my hair. all of the girls at my pre-school had them.
That was during my freshman yr of hs, and, oh yes,they were everywhere.
i used to wear grass hoppers not butterflys =(
I never had them, but everyone i know did. especially my friend britteny Pereira. she had them upon the hundreds ALL over her room :P man i love those things :D

The wings were on springs and they wobbled around when you moved your head.
I had three and i don't think i ever wore them in my hair, i just liked pulling on the wings.
and then they broke, lol.

I had an obsession with those things when i was in 8th grade! This kid who had a locker next to me would always say thats where I hid my crack and I remember thinking that was totally repulsive. LOL

i have a school picture from like 3rd grade where i was wearing one of these bad boys... it was super littery and i remember mine as "cool" because the wings moved lol

what a great site for memory lane! i would go to the flea market and go to the booth that had boxes of these things...every color, size, and style you could think of for like 50cents each...i had so many! remember when they went mini and you could put so many more on your "corn rows" haha
omg, I have TONS of these, andI still wear them. It was like 1998, and people kept giving me sooooooo many of these. I still wear them occasionally, and boys actually think I look cute (which is a bit unnerving to get all the 'Oh! I remember those!!!!! Looks great on ya Tish' from the guys. Guys shouldn't remember butterfly clips. ergh.)
I use to wear those!!! I went to Sally's and also the butterfly palace. Why are they no where to be found. This fad must return!!!!! I will start a revolution that will bring them back to us all.
gawd, i still find them at the dumb festival that comes to my town. i buy like 10 for a dollar.

hmmm theres people talking about the ones that are like plastic claw clip things then theres people talking about the ones that came out a few years later with the springy bouncy wings :) i liked the plastic ones better that u twist sections of your hair in and clip them :)
