I used to love this gum as a kid. Now I don't know why I did. It tastes awful and only lasts for two minutes.

i thought these were a Toys R Us exclusive candy when i was little, since that was the only place i ever saw them and i somehow had zebras and giraffes linked or mixed up for some reason.

Yes it was Fruit Stipes. I remember chewing this with the wrapper and all, and the wrapper actually disappeared.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but anytime I ever bought this stuff it was always stale and rock hard. It still tasted good, but when you took out a stick of gum it usually broke into a few pieces.

They still have these at Walgreen's and Fry's.

Fruit Stripe was awesome...for about three seconds. Then the flavor dissolved and so did the chemical make up of the gum, which quickly turned into melted little granules of what used to be gum that then tasted like the sole of a shoe. Why can't they make gum that doesn't lose flavor? Juicy Fruit is some of the best flavored gum in the world, but after a few seconds the flavor vanishes and it tastes like rubber.

Wow, I actually had forgotten about that. I used to get them at our local sack n save. I would go through a pack so fast because of the flavor.

These were good, brings back memories when i would spend the weekend with my g-ma and we would walk up to a thorton's gas station near her house and she would get us kid's this gum and several other candies.

I loved the tattoos you could use off the wrapper. They were crappy, but at the time, it was the best thing ever.

Tasted like baby aspirin when the flavor started to wane, you can still find this in Texas at all grocery stores.
ZincGZZ - January 23, 2014 - Report this comment
I remember this gum, used to get it all the time, tried to collect every tattoo (didn't work out in the end). I still can get this at the local Dollar General (I think). I disliked how the flavor only lasts a few seconds. :( (Posting from my Nintendo 3DS).
